Business Building
Creating scalable companies with recurring revenue, clear operating systems, leadership teams, and processes that reduce owner dependence. Focused on the practical work of growth, not theory.
Entrepreneur. Technology Executive. Business Builder.
I build businesses, systems, and technology strategies designed to reduce risk, create leverage, and make companies easier to scale.
About
Michael Murphy is the Founder and CEO of SolutionOne, a managed IT services and cybersecurity company based in Allen, Texas. Since 2009 he has led the organization through the shift from hands-on technical problem-solving to building scalable systems, developing teams, acquiring clients, and creating the operating infrastructure of a growing service business.
With more than 15 years working directly with small and mid-sized organizations, Michael brings a practical understanding of the real constraints business owners face: operational risk, productivity, staffing, security, profitability, and growth, not just technology issues in isolation.
He is highly technical, yet his work centers on the intersection of technology, cybersecurity, operational resilience, AI, and business risk. The goal is always the same: make the business more secure, more efficient, more scalable, less dependent on any single person, and better prepared for disruption.
“Technology should make a business more secure, more efficient, more scalable, and easier to operate—not more complicated.”
Focus
Areas where I spend my time: building, advising, and thinking about how technology and systems create durable advantage for growing companies.
Creating scalable companies with recurring revenue, clear operating systems, leadership teams, and processes that reduce owner dependence. Focused on the practical work of growth, not theory.
Treating technology as a strategic lever for the business rather than infrastructure to be maintained. Aligning systems, data, and tools with how the company actually needs to operate and grow.
Approaching cybersecurity from a business-risk perspective. Helping organizations understand real exposure, prioritize what matters, and reduce operational and cyber risk without fear-based messaging.
Exploring how AI can eliminate repetitive work, improve decision-making, increase employee leverage, and change how smaller companies operate, moving beyond hype to practical, secure applications.
